Born in New Jersey to Caribbean parents, comedian/host/performer Michelle Buteau brings a cheeky swagger, unique perspective and big personality to stage and screen. Buteau started performing comedy a few days after September 11, 2001.
Michelle has been a staple at VH1 appearing on countless I Love The series, Best Week Ever, where she was nominated for a New Now Next Award, and also played the sassy sidekick on The Jenny McCarthy Show. As a comedian, Buteau has toured the country performing at colleges, clubs and comedy festivals.
In 2017, Buteau was listed as one of ten comedians to watch by Esquire Magazine.
In 2018, Buteau started hosting the Late Night Whenever! podcast, which was labeled as “one of the best podcasts of 2018 so far” by Time Magazine. Buteau was also part of The Comedy Lineup on Netflix where up and coming comedians have 15 minute stand-up sets.
In 2019, Buteau appeared in the movies: Someone Great, Isn’t It Romantic, Sell By, and Always Be My Maybe. and appeared in two television series: First Wives Club and Tales of the City.
Her television stand-up appearances include the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Lopez Tonight, Comedy Central and Last Comic Standing. As well as playing Private Robinson on FOX’s critically acclaimed series Enlisted, Michelle is also known as ‘The Crazy Girlfriend’ on Comedy Central’s Key & Peele and Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show.
